David King – Latvia

The purpose of the trip (3-10th November 2023), was to link up with Bernard and Nada Mikulic in Croatia and bring some apostolic and prophetic input to some of the churches and leaders Bernard relates to. Bernard has been instrumental in bringing some notable church leaders together in mutual friendship and shared vision for their nation and region. He has a real gift in this direction.

According to the 2021 census 78.97% of residents residing in Croatia are Catholics, while Orthodox Christians make up 3.32% of the population, Muslims 1.32%, and Protestants 0.26% of the population. That gives us some idea of the challenge that we face here.

We arrived in Vodice where we lodged in the lovely apartments owned by Bernard and Nada. They rent out these apartments in the summer months to holidaymakers. They have worked very hard as a family to top up their income by means of another business they set up. This has proved to be an uphill journey for them as they look to free up time for serving the vision of establishing an apostolic and prophetic network in their nation. We need to pray that God opens the heavens and pours out a blessing in this regard. Mission is expensive.

One of the highlights for me was the team team meeting held in Split, with Igor Vroc who pastors there, Ico Matilic who pastors in Korcula, and Laci Hornjik who pastors in Sibenik. You got to feel that something is shaping up here between these brothers that will bring real and lasting change to the spiritual landscape that currently exists.

We got to minister in Korcula, Split, Zadar and Sibenik. We experienced a real openness to the teaching that Maurice brought and the prophetic ministry that followed on from that. You have to imagine the five of us squashed in a car for hundreds of metres together. This close proximity seemed to trigger a tsunami of the worst dad jokes imaginable!

Please pray for them all. There is something so powerful that is released when churches and leaders band together out of genuine friendship and shared values. The brothers there have voiced a desire to grow in the prophetic and are looking for help in achieving that. 

Croatia is a beautiful country and we look to God for something beautiful to emerge out of these precious relationships.
