For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat

Kevin and Edik – Ukraine

Our friend Edik cares for three churches in Ukraine and with the support and generosity of many of us in the Lighthouse Community, he has been able to support many people in very practical ways. It is a joy and a privilege for us to partner with Edik and through him, to be a blessing to brothers and sisters in Western and Eastern Ukraine.

Recently, Edik shared with me how the money was spent from our summer offering (see below) and I am very pleased to say that we recently received a further gift of £1000 for Ukraine and were able to send this off today! 24/09/21.

Edik writes:

Thankyou for your love and your gifts. With the money you sent we were able to buy food products for the people in Yenakiyevo and Uzhgorod and we were also able to pay four months rent for our church building in Uzhgorod. We bought materials to repair the church roof in Yenakiyevo and were able to employ someone to complete this work. We have some materials left over and will use this to make further improvements.

In total we spent $700 on food, $1000 on roof materials and labour, $400 on rent and we plan to spend the remaining amount of money on purchasing food in Yenakiyevo, as now they need it more.

We are very grateful for everything you do for us and may the Lord richly bless you…

It’s great that Edik & teams have been able to share food with those in need. Were the children involved in the distribution of food or were they receiving food for their families?

Thanks for the response Peter…the kids were blessed for sure. I don’t know how involved they were in the distribution though…blessings.
