In Galatians 2, Paul describes the moment when his apostolic ministry comes into full-partnership with the elders and apostles of the Jerusalem Church. The right hand of fellowship is both offered and received, with one vital caveat: they gave the right hand of fellowship to Barnabas and me, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do. (Gal 2:9b-10)

Remember the poor! Despite the difficulties that these apostolic ministries are to encounter – issues around food, circumcision and adherence to Jewish law etc – the one absolute, non-negotiable is this: Remember the poor! An indisputable mark of authentic apostolic ministry is that the poor are remembered – and on this point, James, Peter, John, Paul and Barnabas are in full agreement, Paul remarking in v10 that this is the very thing I was eager to do.

With us, will you remember the poor and the displaced of Uzhgorod, Ukraine, in 2024 ?

Could your church take up an offering this Christmas to support ministry?

Could you or your business set aside a single gift / a monthly gift to sustain this vital work?

Will you join with us in raising €130k to support Ukraine in 2024?

Scripture teaches us to remember the poor, because they are so easily forgotten. A team of us – Maurice Nightingale, David King, Susie Voke and Emma & Kevin Reilly have just returned from visiting Edik and Liana in Uzhgorod, Ukraine. They and their ministry are utterly dependent upon people like you and me, choosing to remember them.
