Before watching the video below, please take a moment to read this!
In Galatians 2, Paul describes the moment when his apostolic ministry comes into full-partnership with the elders and apostles of the Jerusalem Church. The right hand of fellowship is both offered and received, with one vital caveat: they gave the right hand of fellowship to Barnabas and me, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do. (Gal 2:9b-10)
Remember the poor! Despite the difficulties that these apostolic ministries are to encounter – issues around food, circumcision and adherence to Jewish law etc – the one absolute, non-negotiable is this: Remember the poor! An indisputable mark of authentic apostolic ministry is that the poor are remembered – and on this point, James, Peter, John, Paul and Barnabas are in full agreement, Paul remarking in v10 that this is the very thing I was eager to do.
2023 is coming to an end and everything in this video update has been made possible because of the love and generosity of so many people. Thank you.
This ministry costs €130k a year to maintain and in order for us to be able to continue housing, feeding and caring for refugees in Uzhgorod, we would ask you to partner with us once again.
With us, will you remember the poor and the displaced in Ukraine?
Could your church take up an offering this Christmas to support this ministry through 2024?
Could you or your business set aside a single gift / a monthly gift to sustain this vital work?
Will you join with us in raising €130k to support Ukraine in 2024?
Scripture teaches us to remember the poor, because they are so easily forgotten. A team of us will be heading out to Edik and Liana at the end of this month for a few days of fellowship with them. They and their ministry are utterly dependent upon people like you and me, choosing to remember them.
There’ll be more information about our €130k Support Ukraine 2024 Appeal sent out in December – you can read more about it here – but for now, please click on the picture below, watch the video and allow the people and the stories to stir your heart.
